In July, the program came to life in partnership with the Rotary Club of Roosevelt and Gawad Kalinga, reaffirming how cxperts culture is rooted in empowerment, purpose, and building communities that thrive.
A Rainy Day Transformed
The rollout was not without challenges. On the morning of the event, strong winds and rain from a passing typhoon swept across the community. Yet, despite the weather, volunteers gathered early to prepare. By the time the skies cleared, children had already begun to arrive, bright-eyed, curious, and eager.
Each received a Happy Meal with a small book tucked inside, but the true magic began when the maleta was opened. Pages turned, laughter filled the air, and imaginations took flight. For many of the children, it was their first time holding a book of their own, a small step that opened a much wider world of learning and possibility.
