Job Summary

We are seeking a meticulous and analytical Cost Engineer to manage and control project costs across all phases of construction and engineering projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for cost estimation, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, ensuring that projects are delivered within budget and aligned with financial goals. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and a deep understanding of construction processes and cost control methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects based on drawings, specifications, and scope of work.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets and cost control systems.
  • Monitor project expenditures and ensure alignment with approved budgets.
  • Analyze cost variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure accurate cost tracking.
  • Prepare regular cost reports and forecasts for management review.
  • Evaluate contractor and supplier bids for cost accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Support contract negotiations and change order evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and industry standards.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and contribute to value engineering initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in cost engineering or project controls.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, cost estimation techniques, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in cost control software (e.g., Primavera, SAP, MS Project) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in cost engineering (e.g., AACE Certified Cost Professional).
  • Experience with large-scale infrastructure or industrial projects.
  • Familiarity with international cost standards and practices.
